Chicago Honeymoon: Day 2, Part 1

As I promised, I have posted more about our mini-vacay/honeymoon...

Tuesday morning we again went to Yolk for breakfast, except this time it was the one on Michigan Avenue so it was different I guess. But, it was just so good Monday morning we just had to get it again! Oh, and I wanted to order the Carrot Cake french toast. That's right you heard read me right. CARROT CAKE french toast. It was carrot cake sliced and put into french toast batter and then cooked and topped with a pineapple and mango chutney stuff. Sounds ah-mazing, right? Well when I ordered it the waitress said they were all out. My heart sank :( I ended up getting a waffle instead. It was pretty good, but not exactly what I was looking forward to.

After another great breakfast we walked our way to Shedd Aquarium. We are so happy we went there early because about 1:00 it was so crowded and hot!

we found nemo!
we even got to see a scuba diver go clean the tank a bring a bunch of lettuce down. the fish went nuts trying to eat it!

the shark tank may have been our favorite part. We took almost 40 pictures of the sharks. Well trying to take pictures. Most of them didn't turn out :(

After the sharks we went to the Planet Earth 3D movie. During the show the chair had a thing in it that poked you when a shark jumped out of the water and water that sprayed in your face. It was hilarious!
I think his name was Ed
penguins!
the dolphin and whale show!

We also visited The Bean, but we had seen it before and it was uber hot. So we continued our trek to State Street for some shopping...

I will be posting about our last dinner in Chicago later.

Chicago Honeymoon: Day 1

Why hello again!! Sorry for my lack of blogging lately! I've been busy packing (we are moving on Friday), shopping, opening our incredibly generous gifts, and enjoying being a newlywed :) There is a lot to get to in order to catch up. But, I have yet to load the pictures from the wedding and pre-wedding days onto my computer. So instead we are going to start with our honeymoon and go from there...

Sean and I went on our mini-honeymoon to Chicago July 15th-18th. We had such a great time and did not want to come home after :( But, it was back to reality on Wednesday night when the two of us got home.  We left Ankeny earlier Sunday afternoon while we left our parents, Ashley, Adam, and Alex to do the cleaning up. THANK YOU ALL!! I know how much help we had setting up and there were four times as many people. So thank you again for tearing down :)

We got to Chicago via MegaBus on Sunday night...
sorry so blurry!
We arrived downtown at about 11:15 that night. In case anyone was wondering we did enjoy the MegaBus, except for the fact that the air conditioner was not functioning properly, so it got VERY hot! Otherwise, it was great. We had no stops, we got to sit next to each other, and it dropped us off right downtown. Then, we got a taxi and headed to our hotel for the night.

The next morning we headed to Yolk for breakfast. I had been waiting for this for EVER! And, it most definitely lived up to my expectations. SO YUMMY!

After breakfast we did a little bit of shopping and went to Navy Pier for lunch/snacking. Sean and I ate at Bubba Gump's. It was Sean's first time there!

For dinner that night Sean made reservations at Maggiano's. Once again, it was amazing!

nervous jitters

I hope not to disappoint anyone, but this will be the last post until after the wedding. I'd like to savor every last moment of the planning process and also have time to relax :)

I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't nervous or anxious. It's not a nervous like I'm thinking something is wrong, but it's more of a nervous about what am I going to do with my life after the wedding?? I have completely emerged myself into wedding planning through this blog, other blogs, pinterest, magazines, work, and everything else. I'm going to miss ALL of it! I know I'll be able to still look at all of it, but it just won't be the same. lol

In addition to worrying about how much more time I will have on my hands, I'm also nervous about the basic things like falling down the stairs, tripping on my dress, making a fool of myself, or basically just being in front of so many people. But, it helps a lot when I think about Sean and having my dad help me down the aisle :)

So, we hope everyone has safe travels to Ankeny! Sean and I are very excited to see all of our friends and family on Saturday and spend the entire evening with our guests!! We love you guys!
