blue trail or "high trestle trail" is very scenic and is very pretty!
My brother and I have biked that trail a few times...don't be alarmed if
you think you're going into the middle of nowhere, because you kind of
are :)
Golf courses
For those of you who would like to try their hand at the golf courses in the area instead of walking or biking the trails there are 2 public courses in the Ankeny area. Here they are...
Otter Creek
you can find out more information here. They are open 6:30am until sundown and it's not far from my house in Ankeny. In the past few years they have completely changed the course and added homes to the area. It's a very nice course!
Woodland Hills
This is another course not far from Ankeny, and here is their website. I have never personally been to this course, but I have heard it is also very pretty.
Accoommodations
We have rooms booked at 2 hotels. Both are just over 2 miles down the road from wedding/reception site. Each hotel has rooms booked for both Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th. Just give them a call and ask them for a room under the name "Hagan/Johnson Wedding".

*The rooms are all getting renovated this summer (2011), and the receptionist said that next year the rate will be "substantially" higher, but they we able to give us the rate of what it is currently :) Also, there is a complimentary hot breakfast, pool, and hot tub.

Delaware is a main street in Ankeny and it is located not far from the hotels. You can find basically anything you need on it. Some places you'll find include:

Places to Eat:
There are numerous restaruants on Deleware including Panera, McDonald's (one of Sean's favs), Tasty Taco's, HuHot, Pancheroes, Okoboji Grill, and Culvers. Lemon Tree is one of my favorite places in Ankeny...It's in a strip mall infront of Kohl's/Best Buy and next to Starbucks. They have amazing frozen yogurt that is very reasonalby priced! Lastly, Olive Garden is on Oralabor right next to Walmart.
