Lake of the Ozarks...a little late

I know I'm a little late (please regard the last post for the reason) but at the beginning of this month Sean and I got a chance to spend a few days with my extended family down at Lake of the Ozarks. Everything is just as it always is...fun, food, games, more food, and family...Good times. So I'll just give you a few pics of our trip...

Life lately

I'm back to school and trying to stay on top of things so again sorry for being so behind :( But, I've started by 3rd year of pharmacy school. That means this is my last year of classes and in May of next year I'll start my rotations...and then I'll be a pharmacist in May 2014!

Last Wednesday night Iowa City had one of my favorite days in the WORLD...Taste of Iowa City!

Sean and I met some friends downtown and tasted all the amazing food. We had chicken lips, frozen yogurt, mini bbq pork sandwiches, mac n' cheese, and lots of other stuff. I was very upset though that the place I got the dipped ice cream bars from last year closed :(

Sean, I, Abby, Beckett, Ian, Brady, and Brittany

the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner

Again, I feel like I need to thank everyone again for all their hard work of setting up! We couldn't have done it without you!!! After all the set up we went home for a quick shower and get ready for the night. We had the rehearsal at 5 and dinner at 6. Sean's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Palmer's Deli in Ankeny. It was a lot of fun and even had live music! The music made the night...Thank you Dennis and Annie!!

...and the next day we got married :)

Excuse the mess

Please excuse the look of the blog as I try and re-vamp the look of it. I thought since our wedding was over we would do something a little different. So bare with me as I change it up. It may be a mistake doing this during the first week of classes when I'm supposed to be getting back into the swing of things. Oh well :)

Chicago Honeymoon: Day 2, part 2

I'm sorry for jumping around so much!! And, I'm also sorry that I left you hanging on our trip to Chicago! I forgot to post this part 2 from Day 2. If you can remember here is our part 1 from Day 2...here.

After our trip to Shedd Aquarium and The Bean we continued our journey to State Street for some shopping. I had much better luck this day :)

Once we were back at our hotel we found the terrace on the roof

For dinner that night Sean made us reservations at the Signature Room on the top of the Hancock building. This is on our walk to dinner...

Just in case anyone is actually interested...We arrived on time for our reservation, but when we requested a window seat they said it would be about a 45 minute wait. We decided it would be worth it. So we went up to the lounge and had a few drinks (I got a martini and Sean got a beer) and our total was $28! Wow! We only had to wait about 25 minutes until we got a table by the window and it was PERFECT! We got to see the lake, Navy Pier, and the city. We enjoyed every minute of it :) And, the food was AMAZING, too! A quote from Sean: "even the butter for the bread was good!"

Our dessert from the Ghiradelli Chocolate store across the street. We got an ENORMOUS chocolate chip cookie! YUM
The next day we got to sleep in a little bit and got breakfast burritos from across the street then got a taxi to head back to Union Stations to catch our bus.

We had a wonderful trip and were sad to come back :( But, we have another honeymoon to look forward to in about 3 months! Can't wait!

more from the days before the wedding

After lots of strawberry dippin' we started loading all the vehicles/trailers with the plants and other decorations. I was impressed that no car had to make 2 trips! If you noticed all the palms and all the dark grey pots that we had...yup they were all ours and my mom had been nurturing those plants for weeks and some of them even months!

Once we arrived we had TONS of help setting up; we are so thankful to have such loving families!
